What should you look for when buying a dehumidifier? How can you make the best choice to effectively reduce excess moisture in your home?

Key Criteria for Choosing a Dehumidifier: Selecting the right dehumidifier depends mainly on two factors: the room temperature and the size of the space.
Room Temperature: For rooms with adequate heating (over 16–17 °C), a compressor dehumidifier is the best choice, as it offers lower energy consumption. If the temperature is lower, a compressor model will not perform efficiently. In that case, a desiccant dehumidifier (using zeolite technology) is recommended. The main advantage of desiccant models compared to compressor units is that they maintain high efficiency across a wide temperature range, from 1 °C up to 37 °C.
Room Size: The size of the room is the second factor to consider when choosing a dehumidifier. With ceiling height being fairly standard (around 2.80 m in homes), room volume is generally simplified to floor area, measured in square meters.
