Convector heaters are modern, self-contained electric heating devices. Each unit features an internal heating element (electrical resistance) and a control system consisting of a built-in thermostat and a user-interface. Models with resistance made of aluminum fins provide optimal performance and high-quality heat distribution. When the thermostat is digital and offers high sensitivity (±0.5 °C or less), the heater can maintain a stable room temperature with reduced energy consumption.

When the heating element is activated, the air inside the convector warms up, becomes lighter, and rises through the unit from bottom to top. This natural airflow circulates warm air throughout the room, transferring heat evenly and maintaining a comfortable temperature. It’s a continuous process of air recirculation that keeps the space consistently warm. For maximum efficiency, convector heaters are installed low on the wall—typically 8 to 15 cm above the floor—so they can draw in the coolest air in the room. This placement ensures optimal performance and helps distribute heat evenly from floor to ceiling.
As the air circulates naturally inside the convector—without the use of a fan or motor—it moves slowly and is released gently into the room. This steady airflow delivers a large volume of warm air at a moderate temperature, creating a pleasant and comfortable environment without drying out the atmosphere. Since there are no moving parts such as ventilators, convector heaters operate in complete silence.

Like all wall-mounted electric heating appliances, convector heaters must comply with must comply with the European Ecodesign 2024/1103 directive. Models that meet this standard feature a digital thermostat with a sensitivity of ±0.5 °C or even finer precision. They also offer weekly programming, an open-window detection sensor, and in some cases, a motion sensor.
